catch up CD ROM 2

The Catch Up CD ROM 2, one of Catch Up's award winning resources*, is a structured multi-media learning resource for children aged between 7 and 11 who have difficulties with reading and writing.

Designed to complement the Catch Up literacy intervention programme, the CD ROM provides graded reading, spelling and comprehension exercises within a fun and motivating animated environment.

It comprises twenty-two individually designed activities; each one based on well-researched literacy intervention strategies, arranged in five exciting worlds:

• land of the dinosaurs
• the lost city
• planet Zizz
• the swamp
• the tomb of King Heb

* Along with other resources developed by Chalk, the Catch Up CD ROM 2 played a significant part in Catch Up’s recent Basic Skills (Wales) Book Award for non-book materials. The judges “were especially impressed with the CD ROMs of extension activities in the form of multimedia educational games.”
