childsplay.uk.netDeveloped for the Willows Centre for Children (a special needs school and early excellence centre in Portsmouth), Childsplay is a place for the school to share their experiences. It is crammed with useful information - from potty training and sleeping to messy play and difficult behaviour. It makes suggestions, gives explanations and explores games and activities that teachers and parents can try with their children. All the content is written by teachers, physiotherapists and the school's speech therapists. And, while the site carefully uses language that is accessible both to teachers and to parents alike, each topic also has a 'FOR TEACHERS' button that provides academic references to support the information given on the main pages. catchup.org.ukCatch Up is a charity that aims to help struggling learners. They wanted a web site which would enable anyone to find out about the Catch Up Programme, the training that Catch Up provides and the additional resources that they offer. willows nursery schoolThe Willows Centre for Children also needed a web site to help them share their resources. In addition to all the usual contact and other information, the Willows web site provides a unique repository for a growing range of teaching and policy documents - all of which they are making available free for other teachers to download, amend and use. wave3conferences.org.ukAs part of its organisation of a series of Wave 3 literacy and mathematics conferences for Catch Up and the DfES, Chalk developed www.wave3conferences.org.uk. This site provided comprehensive information about the conferences and about all of the Wave 3 literacy and mathematics interventions that took part.
It also featured an online registration system, enabling delegates to register not only for a conference but also for their choice of presentations.
More than 250 delegates registered using the website - significantly reducing the amount of time, resources and costs needed to organise the conferences.
